If you follow any celebrities on Instagram, you’ll more than likely be well aware how frequently some of the world’s favourite stars jet off to warm and exotic destinations while the rest of us freeze back home in Blighty.
This Insta jealousy can become too much to bear, especially when most of us can’t splash out in the same way these megastars can to follow suit and hop on the next first-class flight to the Maldives.
We wondered though; are all celebrity holidays really that unattainable? We’ve studied the cost of staying at the exact same resorts which some of our favourite celebs have tagged on Instagram and those where they’ve been snapped at by the paparazzi, as well as how much it would cost to fly there from London.
Of course, these celebs themselves likely stay in the most expensive suites and fly first class, so we’ve looked at both the costs associated with basic rooms and economy flights to make things a little bit more attainable for us mere mortals as well as revealing how much it’d cost to holiday like a star!
Where will you be heading on your next star-spotting holiday?
Dates used for flights and hotel bookings were within the first two weeks of May, with the exception of Courchevel where the dates used were the first week of March due to ski season. In some cases, the first week of May was unavailable, so the next available dates were selected.
Resorts were found by each celebrity tagging the resort (either by geotagging or mentioning) in posts or stories on their Instagram accounts, and online news articles.
Flights searched for were from any London airport, and prices were found for the cheapest economy, business and first-class flights where available. Where first class was not available, the highest available class was used when working out the most expensive holiday option. For the most affordable holiday option, the cheapest economy seats were used.
