The Warriors are 27-1 since Klay Thompson signed a toaster

The Warriors’ season took an interesting turn late in the season. On Feb. 28, Kevin Durant went down with a sprained MCL and would miss about a month of time. The Warriors lost that game, and four of their next six. Golden State looked disjointed and unsure of itself and with Durant’s injury looming, it was hard to make sense of the team.

Then Klay Thompson signed a toaster.

It was a weird moment to say the least. Thompson stared at the toaster for quite a while but I think this was all part of the toaster connection coming together. Like Raven from That’s So Raven seeing into the future.

He signed this on the March 13. The Warriors immediately ran off a 14-game winning streak after that. In fact, they’re 27-1 since then. Their only loss was against the Jazz on April 10 where Thompson didn’t play. It all makes sense that they lost that game since this is technically his toaster streak.

The Warriors are now 12-0 in the playoffs and headed to their third straight NBA Finals. They’re just the third team in the modern era to go undefeated in the first three rounds and the first team to do so when each series was best-of-seven.
