Representatives for Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green have filed paperwork to trademark the phrase "Dray Day."

Green already has a podcast called "Dray Day," which is part of Uninterrupted, the network developed by LeBron James and his business partner Maverick Carter.

"Draymond continues to be focused on building his investment and asset strategy," said Green's business partner and adviser Daniel Sillman. "In addition to real estate, one of the areas of interest is media and opportunities around media."

Over the past few years, athletes have been more actively trying to trademark phrases associated with their business.

The leader in that category is Floyd Mayweather, who has filed for more than 230 trademarks since he started Mayweather Promotions in 2010. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady owns four trademarks to his "TB12" logo and has filed to trademark 20 more. Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch owns three trademarks ("Beastmode," "I'm just here so I don't get fined," and "Bout that action.")
